Welcome to our wall, we have 51 climbing lines, eight Clip & Climb lines + 2 sky climb lines also. A bouldering wall with all sorts of shapes and angles to try. Our routes are graded so you keep an eye on how you’re climbing’s going. There’s always a member of staff close by so that if you need any help, we can sort it out quickly. If you’re new to the sport, don’t worry our staff will give you a free induction and literally ‘show you the ropes’.
- Pre booking only by telephone; this can be done Mon-Fri between 9-12 each day, 0191 4240118. There are limited places available for each session. This also includes any spectators so please only attend with those who are going to take part in the activity.
- Cash or card but we prefer card via contactless if possible.
- We encourage you to wash your hands before, during and after your climbing session. Hand sanitiser is available to use around the building and prior to entering at reception.
- Please follow all instructions from staff.

All sessions are staffed, entrance fee includes instruction (if needed) and a harness and belay device. Hire of rock boots are just a £1 extra. Our public climbing sessions are open to all but we encourage a family mix where you can share experiences together, don’t worry, you don’t have to climb but you can support your kids while they try something new. You don’t have to an expert! Our walls are designed to help beginners and seasoned climbers alike and we’re sure you’ll find something for you to do.

We can deliver levels 1 - 4 of the National Indoor Climbing Achievement Scheme, to sign up simply speak to a member of staff.
We’re proud to have a climbing wall specifically designed for those with additional needs and a wall that is wheelchair accessible too. If you require this facility please contact us to discuss your requirements.
Follow these links to learn a few skills before taking part. Dont worry if you dont get the hang of them, staff will support you throughout. Firstly learn 'how to tie into the rope' then 'how to belay' As a beginner you can see what to expect before trying inddor climbing out, As a parent perhaps, it will help you undertand what your son/daughter may be doing when they climb with us.
Kit Needed
You don't need much kit, just no skirts, dresses or tight fitting clothes that will restrict your movements. We will sort out the technical kit including harness and belay device with karabiner.
Health & Safety
Under 8's cannot be left in the building without supervision. Staff are appropriately qualified to supervise indoor rock climbing, All lead instructors hold either the Mountain Training's Rock Climbing Instructor or Climbing Wall Instructor Awards and a valid first aid certificate.
